Future Sight of: JOHN 3:16 HUNTING PRESERVE
Introduction: Donations and/or Contributions:

My name is Anthony Price and Ohio is my home. I have been an avid outdoors man all my life. Approximately two years ago I was injured while working on an overhead crane.

The road to recovery has been a difficult and I have a long way to go. I am permanently disabled and my activity is extremely limited. After my injury I was diagnosed with Reiter's, which has further hindered my recovery. The most difficult challenge I have had to face has been the depression, seclusion and my diminishing sense of self worth.

Due to my limited physical ability I am unable to enjoy the social aspect of working or hunting, which I love. Deer Hunting is no longer a possibility, as I can no longer climb the hills, use my tree stand or even walk any distance. Bass fishing, my second love, is no longer an option. The motion on the water creates a strain and a great deal of pain, not to mention I cannot sit or stand for extended periods time.

In short, I felt I had to give up the very thing I live for, the outdoors. A friend invited me on a pheasant hunt, all expenses paid and telling him no was not an option. Much to my surprise, I had a great time. The paths were mowed, no weeds tugging at my legs, no tripping over rock or brush and no long walk, great I could do this. This friend showed me a way I could once again enjoy the outdoors, hunting, the comradery of friends and the joy of watching that bird dog work his magic, I could not have asked for more.

Later, my wife, Carmella and I were talking about my experiences of the day. I expressed my interest in one day having my own hunting preserve. Suddenly, it occurred to us how many people suffer with a handicap which limits their physical ability.

That conversation has brought us to you. Our goal is to develop a hunting preserve for all to enjoy, specializing in hunts for those with a physical limitation. We want the men and/or women, whether on crutches or in a wheelchair, to be able to enjoy the trill of the hunt once again. Our dream is to be able to provide the hunts to handicapped individuals regardless of their income. But, we need your help to make this dream become a reality.

In order to provide such a service we must rely on the generousity of the general public. We do not have the funds necessary to undertake this project on our own. What we do have is the desire, education and the dedication to put in relentlous hours to see our dream become a reality.

If you believe, as we do, this is a worthy undertaking but feel rather insecure about possibly contributing due to rising cases of fraud. We understand. Right now, all we are looking for is a starting point. We need to prove the need for such a service and the willingness of the general public to help us succeed in order to obtain backing.

If you are aware of grants or funding available for a small business or a non-profit organization of this nature, please email us with your suggestions.

If you feel you would like to contribute, we advise you to seek legal councel to protect your interest.

Land:

Obtaining the land in Ohio, in the southern part of the state will be the largest challenge we will face.Seventy five to one hundred fifty acres of flat to semi-flat woods and field land would be necessary. The property would need to have a water supply. A spring, creek or a large pond. A large pond could provide easy access fishing.

Buildings to house the birds. Trained bird dogs for the hunt. Concrete for the hunting paths would be required for a large section of field to provide easy access. Shot guns for those wishing to hunt but no longer owning their own gun. Building materials, tractor, tools, birds, feed all of these would be necessary to achieve our goal.

Of course the list above does not cover all the necessities of this undertaking, but it should give you a general idea. If you wish to help by providing information, materials or financial support, please send us an email.

We would appreciate any support or advise you have to offer.
